Why Didn’t Anyone Tell Me Cambridge Was This Lovely?

Not going to lie.

In a classic case of opening my mouth before consulting my brain, I somehow volunteered to go and collect a motorbike from Cambridge for my son.

I could have quite happily done without the motorbike part.

Still, I’ve never been to Cambridge before, so I figured if I was going halfway across the country by my own inability to think before speaking, I might as well make the most of it. So my husband and I cheekily added a few extra days onto the trip.

And do you know what?

Much as I love my jewelry desk, a few days away felt rather lovely. 😊

One of the things I love most about having my own business is that sometimes you can do that. You can disappear for a few days without having to fill in forms, ask permission, or explain yourself to anyone.

Well… Cambridge absolutely blew me away. Ok, the weather was being distinctly British, but frankly Cambridge was so lovely I barely noticed.

The buildings were breathtakingly old. The boutiques were full of character. The whole place had this young, energetic vibe about it. There were ducks and swans gliding along the river, cows casually wandering beside the footpaths, swallows swooping, people punting past ancient colleges, and little boats drifting through scenes that genuinely looked like they belonged in a storybook.

Why on earth had I not been here before?

Possibly because I spent my school years being told I wasn’t Cambridge material. Turns out nobody mentioned you can still visit 😆
