How to Make Spacer Beads

I love playing around with wire to create my own spacers. Using just a bit of beading wire wrapped around your pliers… suddenly you’ve got something that feels far more individual.

It’s such an easy way to change the whole look of a bracelet or necklace without completely reinventing the wheel. A few details and it goes from plain to actually quite exciting!

So don’t feel like you have to stick to off-the-shelf spacers. Get a bit experimental, mix things up, and create something that stands out rather than blending in with the crowd.

Not sure what spacer beads are or when to use them? I’ve put together a simple guide here.

Below I’ll show you how I make mine…

Tools
Round Nose Pliers
Flush Cutters

Ingredients
20 gauge beading wire

Get your beading wire – mine here is 20 gauge
Wrap around your round nose pliers
Create your coils and simply slip off
my cutters
Trim both ends with your flush wire cutters
Pop on your bracelet
You can even go for a messy look!

Have a play with wire thickness 20g, 18g, try perfect coils or messy coils. You can get some really great effects…

Go coil mad!

So simple, why not give it a go!
