Faulty… Or Just Thoroughly Tested?
I got this back today…

The owner insists they’ve only worn it ‘once or twice’
Interesting.
Because it looks like it’s been worn in the shower, at the gym, in a hot tub, in a sauna, on holiday in Spain, while being repeatedly sprayed with perfume, moisturised with body lotion, marinated in fake tan, and then slept in every night for half a year.
After twenty years in the trade, it still amazes me how some pieces come back to me as ‘faulty’.
They look more like they were recovered from the Titanic!
And yet, without fail:
‘I’ve only worn it a couple of times‘.
Of course you have.

And this, right here, is why every jewelry maker needs clear care instructions, a sensible warranty, and boundaries around what counts as wear and tear.
Because very often the jewelry isn’t faulty.
It’s just had a far more exciting social life! 🤗
