The Best Jewelry Glues for Beaded Jewelry

The tiny adhesive choices that make your jewelry look handmade

Jewellery glue is one of those things you don’t think much about… until it betrays you. Loudly and publicly. Over the years I’ve narrowed it down to a small lineup of glues I trust depending on what you are fixing. Let’s start with a few options and I can tell you my firm fave’s below…

1. Precision & Detail Work

These are the glue equivalents of a fine-lined brush – perfect for small findings, small knots, tiny stones, and finishing touches:

• G S Hypo Cement – Great for precise spots. Thin formula stays flexible and dries clear without crazing, ideal for tying off knots on beaded bracelets or tiny accents without the glue blob look due to it’s needle like application. No ugly opaque residue either. One of my go to glue’s for detail. A firm favourite of mine.

• Aleene’s Jewel‑It Embellishing Glue – Craft-friendly and forgiving for beginners; dries clear and smooth. Great for embellishing and general bonding.

• Beacon Gem Tac Permanent Adhesive – Excellent for gem and crystal adhesion where you want a secure hold but not the rigidity of epoxy.

Perfect for: finishing small knots, attaching tiny beads/gem accents, working on delicate metal components where a super strong bond isn’t necessary.

2. Everyday Versatile Jewelry Adhesives

These are the “Swiss Army knife” of jewelry glue – work on a wide range of materials and applications:

• Allony Jewellery glue – Affordable and widely recommended for general jewelry tasks. Good “all-rounder” that handles metal, gems, beads, and basic findings.

• Hemline Gemstone Glue – Slightly thicker, with a focus on stones and gemstone settings – helpful where you need a bit more holding power than basic craft glue. Crystal Clear Results and pearls retain their sparkling clarity, ideal for professional or DIY creations.

• Stormsure Jewelry Glue – Simple, budget-conscious choice for everyday fixes and projects. Bonds effectively to rubber, PVC, leather, fabric, plastic, and more – great for DIY use.

Perfect for: standard glue-downs, medium stress points, attaching stones to bezels when heavy stress isn’t expected. Think more hobby than a professional durable glue.

3. Strong Bonds & Heavy Duty Fixes

For situations where strength, durability or longevity matters – think heavier gemstones, gap-filling, or mixed materials:

• E6000 Premium Glue – Legend status for jewelry makers. Stays semi flexible, can bond metal to metal/glass/stone – the down side is it’s stringy-ness. Mozzarella like 🤪. I personally struggle with this type of glue, I get myself in a right old mess.

• Clear Gorilla Glue – Strong bond on a variety of materials. Works best with surface prep (light roughening/cleaning). Quite a large applicator so large blobs! Clear super glues bond fast and strong, but they’re also the most likely to leave a cloudy or frosty residue – particularly near stones or shiny metal. I tend to reserve these for quick fixes or hidden joins, rather than visible areas.

• B7000 Glue Clear Adhesive – Often compared to E6000 but slightly thinner – great for rhinestones, bezels, and tighter spaces. Again string city!

• High Strength Oily Glue – My favourite choice of glue for everyday hidden work where durability is key.

Perfect for: heavier stones, metal findings requiring a strong hold, parts that might see stress or regular wear. Very durable glue options.

I wish I could tell you there’s one perfect jewellery glue that solves everything. Sadly (and reassuringly), that’s not how it goes. Most experienced makers test. A lot. See how they behave on their own pieces, and then stick with what proves itself over time: Mine are the High Strength Glue & G S Hypo Cement – But think of this list as your shortcut to the good ones to experiment with – find your perfect glue!
