Dangly Chain Thing
A customer emailed me today because she thought her bracelet arrived broken 😮
The culprit?
The dangly chain thing on the end. (I believe the technical term is ‘extender chain’.)
I replied explaining how to use the lobster clasp and adjust the extender chain along it.
Then realised I’d probably made things worse because I’d replaced one confusing term with two more confusing terms!
It’s funny how quickly you forget not everyone speaks fluent ‘Jewelry Maker’.
It reminded me of a meeting with my accountant. She started talking about capital allowances, balancing charges and directors’ loan accounts.
I smiled and nodded.
I was really hoping I had my ‘I understand this completely‘ face on.
…or could she actually see the tumbleweed blowing through my head.
Isn’t it funny how quickly you forget that the things you do every day are completely foreign to somebody else.
Anyway, I’ve decided ‘dangly chain thing on the end’ is now the official jewelry industry term 🤗
